You can own a small piece of Omaha Beach

At the time of my visit to Omaha Beach in May 2009 I took a quantity of sand mixture from the beach immediately in front of the weird (and in my opinion, entirely inappropriate) memorial.

I have decanted this sand into a number of 50cc plastic bottles which are available by mail order for anyone with a personal connection with the awesome events of June 6th 1944, or military historian, or those who just want to be able to run their fingers through the astonishingly light sand and say that they have held it in their hand.

Each bottle will be sent with a laminated Certificate of Authenticity, which will also have more photos of the site.

And in case you are thinking "Well he could have put any old sand in these bottles" - here is my word - this is entirely authentic, the sand was taken in the presence of two witnesses and when it's gone I'll remove this page, just as I did with the sand from the Great Escape parade ground in Zagan, Poland.

The cost is £10 post paid to any UK destination and £15 anywhere else, air mail. You can email me but you must manually remove the extra 'z' from the email address. Paypal only, please.
